COMPANY / MANAGEMENT TEAM Pointserve has assembled a world-class executive management team with a deep knowledge of business process optimization, industry requirements, software development processes and operations management. This team understands the changing dynamics of vertical markets and the need for rigorous cost control in everything from software development to operational process design. They recognize the importance of business optimization in making decisions that drive a mission to success. Dr. Powell founded Pointserve in 1996 with the vision of applying economic optimization technology to service supply chain management. For eight years prior to founding Pointserve, Dr. Powell was a Member of the Technical Staff at the MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory, where he developed advanced forecasting, modeling, and simulation algorithms for autonomous satellite navigation, now the core of the Company’s economic optimization technology. Dr. Powell received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University. Dr. Powell is currently a member of the President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee.
Dr. Lane has been with the Company since shortly after its founding, designing algorithms that represent the state-of-the-art in forecasting and real-time optimization. He has over 15 years of experience in numerical and data analysis, optimization and combinatorial techniques, and genetic and evolutionary computations. Prior to joining Pointserve, Dr. Lane spent 10 years as a member of the Technical Staff at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. He was the Co-Principal Investigator for the Midcourse Space Experiment, the largest SDIO-funded satellite mission. Dr. Lane is the author or co-author of more than 20 refereed journal articles and more than 30 other published papers. He holds a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University.
